Terms & Conditions

1) Placing Orders

Orders must be placed through our online order form or via email/phone and clients must agree to our terms and conditions before proceeding. Our online inquiry form may be filled out to begin the process and obtain a quote for a cake. We book consultations and cake tastings for custom wedding cakes and for large events only.

2) Payment

Payments made to Sinfully Sweet Co. are NON-REFUNDABLE.

All orders under $500 must have their payments due in FULL upon confirmation. Orders that are more than $500 require a 50% initial payment upon confirmation of the order with the final payment due TWO WEEKS prior to date of the event. An order is not considered active, until a payment is received.

Wedding cakes and large event orders require a 50% initial payment upon confirmation of the order, with the final payment due one month prior to the date of event.

Consultation and Tasting is a $50.00 non-refundable fee and is payable at time of booking your appointment.

We currently accept Cash and E-Money Transfers. E-Money Transfers should be made to  info@sinfullysweet.co.

3) Changes to Orders/Cancellation Policy

If you need to make changes to your event date, serving requirement or design, please provide us with two weeks’ notice before the date of your event. Change(s) to wedding cake booking must be made by the date indicated on your contract. Some additional charges may apply. Date changes may be accommodated depending on availability.

Cancellations of order must be made in writing no later than two weeks prior to the date of your event. Last minute orders made within the required two week notice period, will not and cannot be cancelled. Cancellations made less than 2 weeks’ prior, the final payment is due in full

Wedding cake Tasting and Consultation cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to your appointment.

Please note delivery/setup time is final as noted on your contract. Changes to delivery/setup must be confirmed no later than 2 weeks prior to the event.

We reserve the right to cancel your order or refuse service due to abusive behavior, unpaid balances, unrealistic expectations or last minute changes that are not reasonable to us or time permitting.

4) Design

We work closely with our clients to design a cake that suits their theme, event and budget. We will do our best to interpret your vision into a cake and will also provide you with our opinion of what we feel would look best. As artists, we are always appreciative when given some creative freedom in our designs as that’s when we do our best work!

We reserve the right to make last minute changes to the cake design as we feel necessary to obtain the best possible finished product while still keeping the original design in mind.

Our cakes and decorations are edible, but we do use wooden/plastic dowels to support cake tiers and some non-edible products for support in our figurines and fondant pieces such as wire, toothpicks, etc. Please remove before consuming.

We do not copy other artists work. If you have pictures of cakes designs, we can use them as inspiration to create an original design for you.

5) Colors

We will do our best to color match samples that are given to us but please keep in mind that we are working with food products and edible colors. Some colors such as pinks, purples and greys are vastly affected by light and we cannot guarantee exact color matches nor color stability. Cakes should be displayed out of direct sunlight to keep colors from fading out.

6) Edible Image Photo Submission

We only accept one photo per cake unless you have formatted a collage and it is submitted as a single JPEG image. We will not print numerous pictures on one cake unless this has been agreed upon with the designer. Extra charges will apply. We will not print offensive, vulgar or X-rated images on our cakes.

7) Dietary/Allergy Information

Our cake shop uses flour, butter, sugar and eggs in our recipes on a regular basis. At this time, we only offer gluten-free and eggless options. We do not offer 100% nut-free as some of our ingredients or garnishes may contain or have traces of nut products.

8) Floral Arrangements

If flowers are provided by an outside source, we will arrange up to 25 stems free; $1 for each additional stem. You acknowledge that fresh flowers are not a food product, and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants. If you or your representative elects to pick up and set up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves Sinfully Sweet Co.’s possession.

9) Equipment

All rental equipment requires a rental fee (unless specified otherwise by the Sinfully Sweet Co.) and a holding deposit which will be reimbursed in full upon return of the rental equipment.

The holding deposit will not be returned if the equipment is damaged in any way. Damage may be in the form of broken and bent equipment, but not limited to, cuts, chips, scratches, cracks, peels or discolorations.

All rental equipment must be returned by a specified date or a late fee of $20 per day will apply.

10) Delivery and Setup

Delivery is $50.00 for all cakes. If located outside of Toronto, the fee is $1.25 per km, in additional to the initial Delivery fee. Please inquire in advance if after hours’ delivery is needed. This delivery fee is a separate charge. Setup fee is $65.00 and is also a separate charge.

We are not responsible for any damage to the cake after setup is complete. You are responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table and environment for the cake(s). Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 75 degrees or below.

11) Picking up your Order

We will have your order ready at the agreed-upon time and date. Early pick-ups may be accommodated with proper notice, but as we are very busy during certain months of the year, we cannot always complete orders early.

Your cake will be securely boxed and covered with a lid or cellophane when you pick it up. Please check to see that we have the correct design and spelling on the cake prior to leaving our location.

If you are having another person pick up your order, they will be required bring a copy of your invoice and will need to sign a waiver agreeing that your order was intact and correct at time of pickup. We are not responsible for orders once they leave our premises.

12) Transportation/Storage/Serving

As stated above, your cake will be securely boxed upon pickup. When carrying your cake box, please carry from the bottom and not the sides as this could damage the cake.

Please transport your cake/cupcakes in a flat area (floor or back of van/SUV and not in the back of a truck or on a seat.

Cakes and cupcakes should be transported in a cool vehicle and not in direct sunlight. If you have a long distance to travel, we recommend covering the box with a light blanket and putting ice packs next to the box.

Cakes/cupcakes should be refrigerated prior to your event in the original packaging and then may be removed and left out in a cool room for a few hours prior to serving. Leftovers should be wrapped, refrigerated (2-3 days) or frozen. We do not recommend displaying cakes or cupcakes outdoors in either direct sunlight or on warm days. Our cakes and cupcakes are iced with buttercream/fondant and will melt and become sticky if subjected to very warm temperatures.

13) Photographs

On occasion we will photograph our cakes and we reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you.
